Silver Careers
About the project
Interreg Europe project “Silver Careers” aims to improve employment opportunities for people aged 55 + in Latvia, Estonia and Finland, strengthening their with work related digital skills, careers management skills and self-confidence in the labor market.
Project turns against lack of digital skills, age related obstacles and older age employee insufficient used potential. To ensure that training corresponds real work places needs, in the project will be involved also employers .
Project activities
- Stakeholder involvement in each of the partner country (Latvia , Estonia , Finland);
- Common trainer teams creation;
- Need analysis – interviews and surveys with working seniors and employers;
- Digital skills workshops in person and online;
- Careers management skills workshops;
- Individual ability-building sessions;
- International mobilities;
- Participants presentations about learned skills and individual projects;
- Stakeholder seminars;
- Common sustainability plan development;
- Video story creation of “Silver Careers” workshops, project results and participants / employers feedback;
- Closing international conference in Latvia.
Project results
- Elevated senior competitiveness in the market
Individuals aged 55+ from Latvia, Estonia and Finland who are employed or looking to re-enter the workforce will complete the full Silver Careers program with a certificate that demonstrates advanced digital and career management skills.
- International experience and network
Participants will participate cross-border in mobility to partner countries, gaining international experience in the team and expanding employment opportunities Central Baltic in the region.
- Employers engagement and attitudes change
Employers from all partner countries will be engaged in the program, defining teaching goals and supporting their own employees — by promoting more inclusive approach senior for employment.
- Sustainable and portable teaching program
Partners will develop joint “Silver Careers” program with methodological materials, which will be adaptable in others organizations and regions also after project the end.
